Richard, forget the blog jazz. I am here as a regular guy, not as an elder or with a writing ministry. This is a place for a conversation, not for a family visit the the e-elder.Here’s the problem you have, I think. The Word of God is a means of Grace. I don’t expect God to speak to us anywhere but through his Word (or the ministry of it through preaching and pastoral counsel). But your view says that I have an automatic view of the Bible, as if anyone who reads it or hears it preached will be saved, edified, etc.I don’t think you question the Word as a means of grace. So why do you question a high view of preaching, sacraments, and prayer? They are God ordained means too.LikeLike
